Maktab High School comprises Grades X-XIII. This corresponds to Key Stage 4 (Grade X and Grade XI) and Key Stage 5 (Grade XII and Grade XIII) in England. The age requirement for each grade is that by June 30 of the entry year the child is:

Grade X: 14 years

Grade XI: 15 years

Grade XII: 16 years

Grade XIII: 17 years

Students are assessed on basic mathematics, Urdu and English. A previous school-leaving certificate and a parent interview is an integral part of the admissions process.
